The Perfect Dog Gift Basket

The Perfect Dog Gift Basket

With the holiday season quickly approaching, you are probably looking for the perfect gift idea for your friends and family; including your four legged family member!

Your pup is an important part of the family, and so a doggi gift basket is a perfect idea for your four legged family member. You can’t beat the happy face and wagging tail when your pup gets a new toy, or treat, and so this gift idea combines both; ensuring your pup’s tail is wagging all Christmas.

Here’s What You’ll Need..

  • Wooden Storage Box
  • Bag of Dog Treats
  • Tennis Ball
  • Stuffingless Soft Toy
  • Rope Toy
  • Rope Ball
  • Bone Soft Toy
  • Small Stocking
  • Dog Treats – Oinkies
  • Flying disc
  • Rubber Bone Toy
  • Dog Scarf & hat

How I Made It….

I chose a wooden box to make my gift basket in, but you could choose any container you like. You could buy something new, or even use a plastic or wooden box, or basket you find around the house.

Start by putting a couple of sheets of red and green tissue paper at the bottom of the wooden box; this helps to hold up the items you are going to fill it with.

Stand the flying disk up at the back, and then placed the bag of treats on the right side. I used the rubber bone toy behind the packet of treats to prop them up and placed the dog scarf over the bag of treats.

Add the stuffing-less plush toy in the middle, with it’s cute face hanging over the edge, and the plush bone fitted perfectly at the front of the box.

I finished the gift basket off by adding the rope toy & ball, and stuffing some green tissue paper into the bottom of the small stocking, and filling it with 3 of the Oinkie dog treats. I don’t like to give my pups rawhide, and so I love the Oinkies treats as a great alternative. My pups love them too!!

You could include all your pup’s favorite toys and treats, and arrange them in whatever way you choose. The great thing about a gift basket like this is that it’s an inexpensive, and easy way, to give a really adorable gift to the pup in your life. All the items can be found online, in Dollar stores, or at your local pet store.

I love the way this “doggi” gift basket turned out, and I had a real job trying to keep my pups away while I was making it.
